Uganda People's Defence Forces Football Club (UPDF FC) has elected a new leadership team as the club aims to strengthen governance, player development, and competitiveness in the Ugandan Premier League and domestic cups.

The leadership changes come at an important time for the army side, which has traditionally been known for discipline and fighting spirit but is now looking to build more consistent results and attract better talent.

New officials have pledged to professionalise operations, improve welfare for players and technical staff, and establish a clear pathway for youth integration from army academies, with a focus on better scouting networks and partnerships with other institutions.

"We are proud of our heritage, but we must evolve. Strong leadership, proper structures, and investment in players will help us challenge for honours and represent the UPDF with excellence both on and off the pitch," a senior club official told our sports desk.
