The World Health Organization has commended Uganda for its prompt and effective handling of a recent Ebola outbreak, even as the country manages cross-border risks with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus highlighted Uganda's capable response, including rapid containment measures and calls to reopen borders once safe. Health authorities have launched vaccine trials, recruiting volunteers aged 18–55 for the Bundibugyo strain.

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely while reassuring the public that robust systems are in place to prevent wider spread, amid broader regional health efforts.
