Nalongo Maggie Kaweesi, the widow of the late Ugandan dancehall artist Emmanuel Mayanja, popularly known as AK47, and mother of his twins, has died.

According to family sources and close associates, Maggie was first admitted at Nsambya Hospital after falling ill. She was later referred to Mengo Hospital for further management, where she sadly passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Maggie had been battling sickle cell disease for some time, and her condition reportedly worsened after she returned to Uganda from abroad. She leaves behind the twins she had with the late AK47.

The news has shocked the Ugandan entertainment industry, with many artists and fans sending condolences to the Mayanja family and the children who have now lost both parents. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
