President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, received international evangelist Bishop Dr LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe. The visit comes ahead of the scheduled consecration of their daughter, Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, as an Episcopal Bishop on 23 August. The engagement marked one of the First Lady’s more visible recent public appearances alongside the President. In a statement, President Museveni noted that Dr Osborn recalled her first visit to Uganda in 1985 with her late mother, who ministered in the country during a difficult period in its history. The First Lady also fondly remembered the late evangelist, who prayed with the Museveni family and gave their children their first Bibles. “We reflected on Uganda’s transformation over the years and the enduring friendship between the Osborn family and Uganda. I welcome Dr Osborn back to Uganda and wish Pastor Patience a blessed consecration,” the President wrote. Janet Museveni described the meeting as special and deeply nostalgic. She expressed gratitude for Dr Osborn’s continued love for Uganda and her support for Pastor Patience, praying that God would guide and strengthen her daughter in the new responsibility. The Osborn family’s connection to Uganda spans decades through Christian ministry. The upcoming consecration is expected to draw prominent religious and other figures.
