Six years ago, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Musanya Musa started a YouTube channel called King Musah Media with a simple slogan: “Driving Your Imagination to Reality.” What began as a platform for entertainment news and trending stories has today evolved into KMVTECHUG — an umbrella organisation that brings together media, technology solutions and education under one vision. In a statement marking the anniversary, CEO Musanya Musa traced the journey from those early uploads to the current ecosystem. One video listing some of Uganda’s most beautiful artists crossed 16,000 views within two months, giving the young creator the first real signal that the idea had potential. When passion alone could not cover data, transport and equipment costs, King Musah Visuals was born with the slogan “Scripting a New World.” Graphic design work soon expanded into broader IT needs websites, software and technical support, leading to the creation of KMVTECH and eventually the umbrella brand KMVTECHUG. Today the organisation comprises three main pillars. King Musah Media has grown beyond entertainment into a broader news and information platform. KMVTECH provides technology and digital solutions, including websites and systems. KMVTECH EDUCATION, launched on 8 August 2025, focuses on making learning materials and opportunities more accessible to students. A major milestone this year has been the launch of the company’s permanent digital home at kmvtechug.app. The platform is being developed into a learning environment where students will access online courses and eventually earn certifications. Testing, originally planned for 8 August, has been deliberately delayed to ensure quality. Musa acknowledged that the six years have not been without struggle. Systems went down, computers remained unrepaired for months due to limited resources, clients sometimes failed to pay, and the team often relied on temporary staff. An earlier attempt to expand King Musah Media into KMMTv Online was put on hold after it failed to take off as planned. “Building a company is not only about having good ideas. It is about surviving long enough, learning enough and becoming disciplined enough to turn those ideas into sustainable institutions,” Musa said. He paid tribute to the team that works behind the scenes, clients who trusted the young brand, partners and everyone who supported the vision when there was little to show. Looking ahead, KMVTECHUG is completing formal company registration, strengthening its permanent team, building more sophisticated systems and preparing for deeper partnerships. Musa described the start of the seventh year as a transition — from individual projects to institution-building, from survival to sustainable structures. “Six years ago, we were driving your imagination to reality. Today, we are scripting a new world. And tomorrow, we intend to build one that is better than what we have today,” he stated. King Musah Media congratulates the entire KMVTECHUG team on this milestone.
