Distance runner Ruti Aga has been handed a suspension from athletics after attempting to justify a positive test for a banned substance using a fraudulent medical document, according to reporting by BBC Africa.

Following the positive test, Aga attempted to explain the presence of the prohibited substance by submitting a fake prescription. The document was reportedly linked to a family member and claimed to originate from a medical clinic.

However, investigators subsequently established that the clinic listed on the documentation was non-existent, leading to formal disciplinary measures against the athlete.
